The #1 Reason You Should Not Sleep With The TV On

I was that guy for a long time that couldn’t go to sleep without something on but now I need pitch black, total silence. I CAN fall asleep with the TV on but always end up turning it off mid way through the sleep session.

According to Daily Mail, a new study claims that sleeping with the television on leads to depression! Essentially, scientists says, ‘We’re designed to sleep in the dark. When the sun comes up, the light receptors in the retina at the back of the eye tell us it’s time to wake up by inhibiting the release of melatonin, the hormone that makes us sleepy.”

Having a light on doesn’t allow us to get the DEEP sleep that really recharges our internal battery! In fact, you may find yourself in a lower mood the next day because of the poor quality of sleep you experience with even a dim light on in the room. It’s simple, if you want better sleep, TURN EVERYTHING OFF. Sleep in the dark.

Oh yeah, and PUT THE PHONE DOWN. The cure to your “insomnia” is in the palm of your hand. Put it down, Snapchat, Facebook or Tweet when you wake up, it will be more exciting, trust me.
